What to Pack for a Formula 1 Race: Your F1 Survival Kit Guide

  1. I’ve been to two races and they had totally different vibes. I am looking more for race experience than club experience. Barcelona was like a giant club. We also had to RUN to the balcony outside to grab a spot at the rail (balcony very narrow) to see anything. Montreal had seating in the tent (This was champions club for both places). Wondering where I can find out which races have seating for race viewing? Any ideas?

    1. Are you asking specifically about hospitality areas with seating for race viewing? Those are always going to be kind of first-come, first-served, and it’ll always be harder to find a good seat on race day. Some hospitality suites will have more seating than others, but most will be similar to what you’ve experienced in Champions Club. If you want a guaranteed seat that you can choose for race day, I would get a grandstand seat! That way you can choose the exact grandstand you want, and the exact seat you’ll sit in.

If being in a hospitality suite is a non-negotiable for you, then you probably just have to accept that you’ll need to claim your race seat early to be able to sit where you want! I’ve done Paddock Club hospitality before, and it’s the same there – no assigned seats out on the balcony, so it’s just a free-for-all. The hospitality is great, but regular grandstand seating is better for actually watching the race.
